Makin' Tracks

Makin' Tracks

Helping Communities combat drug and alcohol problems through education, training and support.

Working with communities, not for them.

What Is Makin Tracks

Is a mobile team of two Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol (SA) Inc. workers who are available to help communities develop strategies to prevent petrol sniffing, alcohol and other drug misuse and to help communities who are already having problems because of substance misuse.

They are mobile because it’s often difficult for remote communities to provide accommodation.

Who We Are

The Project Officers for Makin’ Tracks are Indigenous workers who have worked in communities and on health and substance misuse projects in the past.

Our Project Officers are skilled and experienced – they know how to work in remote communities as well as in urban communities. They know to respect the wishes of your community, to work alongside community people and to keep out of business that doesn’t concern them.

Our Project Officers are also linked to support staff and other resources back at the ADAC office in Adelaide. These skills, resources and networks are thus available to your community via the Makin’ Tracks Project Officers.
