NIDAC Grants for Worker Subsidy for rural and remote workers

Worker Subsidy Grants for rural and remote workers to attend the Inaugural National Indigenous Drug & Alcohol Conference (NIDAC 2010) "Listening, Learning and Leading" 16 – 18 June 2010 Adelaide Convention Centre, SA CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - CLOSE 15 MARCH NIDAC has funding to support workers from rural and remote areas to attend the NIDAC Conference. NIDAC recognises there are individuals in rural and remote Australia working to address harmful Indigenous alcohol and drug use who often find it difficult to take up opportunities that assist them in keeping abreast of the latest knowledge and best practices being used within the field across Australia. Workers are also often isolated from other workers in the AOD sector. To support these workers who otherwise may not be able to attend the Conference, applications are now being accepted. As funding is limited and NIDAC wants to support as many workers as possible to attend the Conference, workers will need to demonstrate that their employer is also contributing to the costs associated with attending the Conference. A letter of support will also be required from the worker’s employer.

Applications from mental health consumers who may experience harmful drug and alcohol use issues or their carers are also encouraged. also from the Conference website www.nidaconference.com.au under registrations.
